Master In Real Estate Development (MRED) Scholarship Programme
The “REHDA Institute x PropertyGuru & iProperty.com MRED Scholarship” was jointly launched during the Green Build Conference 2022 by REHDA Institute Chairman (Dato’ Jeffrey Ng Tiong Lip), REHDA Malaysia President (Datuk NK Tong) along with REHDA Institute Trustees (Datuk Seri Fateh Iskandar Bin Tan Sri Dato Mohamad Mansor, Datuk Haji Muztaza Bin Haji Mohamed, Datuk Ng Seing Liong, Tan Sri Teo Chiang Kok) and PropertyGuru Malaysia senior representatives (Mr. Sheldon Fernandez and Mr. Joe Thor).

Master In Real Estate Development
The Masters in Real Estate Development (MRED)’s first intake began in 2019, where most of them are mid-level management personnel involved in property development. The first cohort graduated in 2022 (where many of them were promoted to senior management roles upon graduation).
In addition to lecturers from UTAR, the MRED is also taught by industry guest lecturers consisting of captains of the industry (many of them are current and former senior management of large public listed companies in Malaysia). Some of the prominent guest lecturers include Datuk Seri Dr. Michael Yam Kong Choy, Datuk N.K. Tong, Datuk Sr. Charlie Chia Lui Meng, Mr. Ngian Siew Siong, Dato’ Pretam Singh Darshan Singh, Ms. Ho Kwee Hong and many others.
Other than upskilling those in the industry, the MRED is a great place to network amongst industry players and captains to create a more vibrant ecosystem in the construction and property development fraternity.
Scholarship
The “MRED Scholarship” is open to all applicants who are involved in the real estate and property development industry and who has aspiration to elevate their knowledge in the property development industry (targeting for instance, real estate agents, surveyors, architects, engineers, etcetera), where two eligible students who intend to study in the Masters in Real Estate Development programme will receive a 50% scholarship for the upcoming September 2022 intake.
REHDA Malaysia MRED Bursary
The Bursary is open to all REHDA and REHDA Ordinary Member companies who meets the MRED eligibility criteria from UTAR and eligible to further their study in the MRED programme as a full-time or part-time student. The bursary amount shall cover 50% or 100% of the course tuition fees for the MRED programme.
Criteria
The applicants must have Diploma or Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 in related academic fields; or
The applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years of working experience in the real estate industry; and
Any other requirements are subject to the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
2. Applicants are not under termination or disciplinary actions during their job tenure with their company.
3. Applicants are not under any financial or sponsorship contract with any other agency at the time of application and throughout the MRED programme.
